Innocently, and perhaps naively, SingaporeMDM was started to focus on providing MDM services in Singapore only. No grand aspiration to conquer regionally nor globally. Just take care of this small Red Dot.

Founded in 2019 by David Tan, SingaporeMDM was borne out of an idea.

Can mobile device management be accessible to everyone?

During David’s time in Apple, he almost exclusively supported Singapore public schools, promoting the use of learning devices in classrooms.

But there was limited success. Schools were unable to expand the program due to manpower concerns. Very often, a single ICT staff has to manage hundreds of devices alone. And the few companies providing local MDM services were costly and slow to respond.

Available does not equal accessible. If costs are too high, such services will be out of reach due to budget constraints.

Seeing an opportunity, and with some savings in hand, David took the leap to disrupt the status quo. Not to make millions, but to provide a critical service at a sensible price.
